Since I last spoke with you guys, I was having an awesome time up in Cape Cod. Now, I need to catch you up!
On Sunday, July 3, I went to a family cookout. As awkward as it was, in a way it was fun. It is hard, being around people who you dont know. Sadly, there arent many girls so there was no girls for me to hang out with. Just guys. :| But, I am glad I went because if I didnt, I wouldnt see some of my family.
Monday July 4-- Happy Independence Day! :D (4 score and seven, wait? This isnt it!) Today we went to the Main Street parade in Hyannis. It was fun, but some kids wouldnt stop getting in our way. Ugh. But it was ok because I still could see and I could spend my fourth with my GRANDparents.
On Thursday I met up with my Aunt. I have not seen her in 8 years and meeting her was...awkward. Because I had not seen her in 8 years, what were/are her interests? But I talked to her and we went to many places. First the Pru to shop (I got: HARVARD sweatshirt, zipper bag/coin purse, BOSTON bag) then a Duck Boat tour. Plucky Ruffles was our drivers name. He had very bad puns (worse then mine!) and his friends were just as interesting (Disco Dan, Paul Reverse) then we went down to the North Side for Italion food. Cafe Pompeii was the places' name. As it turns out there is an Italion pastry shop down there called Mike's Pastries. So, we figured with a line longer then the DC Cupcakes line (45- 1 hour wait at Georgetown cupcakes I know, I stood in that line) we went in and got a canoli. It was very good. Then we walked around the Fanueil Hall Marketplace. That too, was very cool. After walking around there, we went back to my Nana Frans house to say good-bye. Hopefully it wont take 8 years for me to see her.
After many weeks with my GRANDparents, it was time for me to move on. On Saturday all 3 of us went to check out Boston. It was very cool! We started by parking at Boston Commons and walked through the Public Gardens. We went down to the Tadpole pool. Other places on our list were Paul Reveres house. (Okay, history time!) So, Nana and Papa were asking me where I wanted to go, so I asked them what there was to do. They mentioned Pauls house. (Me, being very smart said)
'What historic relevence does Paul have to this country?'
Papa: You cant get much more historic!
Me: Did he ride the horse?
Both Nana and Papa: YES!
Now if you think I'm stupid from that let me tell you two more things, in another post...
So, we went to Pauls house, and it was old. How that thing hasnt fallen is beyond me. We also went to an Irish Pub (i dont know what a pub is) but our meal was...Well, ask Papa. Also, we went on a swan boat ride. Very fun. Fanuiell Hall, Quincy Hall, and Hard Rock Cafe are some other places we visited :) After going to these places we decided to leave and go to Nana Frans where Uncle Tom would pick me up. See, my plane was at 7 am and if Nana and Papa took me, we would have had to leave at 5:00, but Uncle Tom was close, so he took me. While we waited, we hung out with Nana Fran. It was sad to leave Nana and Papa, very sad for me. I miss them. A lot. I just feel that they did so much for me, and I can never repay them. Ever. I hope I can see them. Soon. We also went through China Town!!!!!!! :DDDDD
The time I was with Uncle Tom was fun, we did a lot of stuff. On Sunday we went tubing with some of his friends. It was weird because I didnt know them and they didnt talk to me, at all. And I was the only girl. I was also the only one who didnt burn while tubing. (It was funny) On Monday it was a lazy day. Black Ops and food. Tuesday was Nana Frans' birthday so we saw her. As strange as it might sound, I didnt see her as much as it sounds. She is very nice and I wish I could have seen her more, without it being years in between. But I have my phone, so I can call her. :) When she came over she brought me bread and orange chewies that I needed to share with Shamus. When she left we tore the bag open and ate a lot of it :P Yummy.....
The next morning I got up and started my journey back home. I took the T with Uncle Tom to Airtran. Then I waited to get on the plane. I was very scared. A wreck. I had never flown before and scenerios were playing in my head. Dont make me say. You will think Im weird... I boarded the plane and waited to find out who would sit next to me. Since I was alone, I knew no one. Then a little girl and her mom came up and sat down next to me. I thanked God, because He gave me a friend that morning. The girl and I talked and talked. At the end of the plane I was told her name was Tiffany. Sadly I forgot her last name. And I doubt I will ever see/hear from her again. I just hope she finds me on FB and adds me. Since I dont know her last name.
When I got off the plane 20 min early, I went looking for my mom, not seeing her, I said goodbye to my friend and went to get my baggage, apparently the baggage it very far away. So I turned and walked back. My mom called me and asked where I was, I told her C-22 she was at C-16. 'Stay right there.' she said. 'Aislinn Crowley please come to C-16 customer service counter, C-16.' So I went to C-16. 'Where are you?' Said my mom. 'C-16, where are you?' 'C-22! Im coming back, stay there!' So I (being smart) began walking to C-22 and saw her. Then we drove home.
Being up north taught me something. No matter how far apart you are from family, you will always find your way home. You always leave places wanting more. But most important:
The moments spent with friends and family are the moments I will never forget.
Thank you. A lot.
