Read Between the Lines ...

 Merry belated Christmas!

 Lately, I have been waking up around 4-5 AM. Crazy, right? On Christmas Eve, I expected this to happen, and it was hard. I couldn't fall asleep, and on top of this, my brother was up with me! (Aidan, Maeve, and I all slept in Aidan's room) As the hours ticked by, we could not wait for 7. Usually around 7 Dad will come and get us to let us know that we can come out. Then, finally, he came in. After telling us to wait a few more minutes, we were at last able to come out! One by one, in a frenzy like way, we burst out of the room- somehow I always end up in the back- and went into the living room. Right under the tree were presents. Dozens of them! And in front, were our stockings! On the couches were Nana, Nanie, and Papa. Mom was at the front of the room, and Dad was by the computer, filming it all. Maeve instantly crouches by a box, and opens it. I, who was stunned and trying to decide what to go to first, picked up my stocking. I then walked over to my usual spot on the couch where I put my presents, and found that Declan was sitting there. I then sat down and began to look at what Santa had left for me in my stocking;
  • 2 movies: Soul Surfer and Water for Elephants
  • Winter Gobstopers
  • Colorful zebra socks
  • 4 mini lotion bottles: Paris and Be Enchanted
  I then sat my stuff down, and walked over to the pile of gifts. Each of my siblings had a box with them, and were getting very cool stuff. I pick up one box and open it. It was a book from my Aunt. One by one, faster and faster each time, I picked up boxes. In the end, this is what I got;
  • Video Camera
  • 4 books : 3 from House of Night and Cross my Heart and Hope to Spy
  • Tee from Paris (I love all things French!)
  • 2 Nooks
  • Lots of clothes
  • Boots
  • purse
  • laptop cover, and more!
Each year, my Mom orders these delicious muffins from Tastefully Simple. They are coated with cinnamon and are so good when warm! On top of that, my Mom also makes Egg Strada only on Christmas day. With these two things and fruit, the meal is truly delicious. Unfortunately, days before Christmas we had not yet ordered these muffins. Thankfully, days before Christmas we had received not two- but three!- boxes of these muffins. They were truly delicious!
 The next few days were a lot of fun, unfortunatly on Monday my Nana and Papa had to leave to go home. My Nanie, who was still with us, then taught me how to sew! She gave me one of her sewing machines and that night I made two things;
  1. purple purse
  2. pajama bottoms for Maeve
The next day, Nanie left to go home, too. I didn't do any sewing this day, but I did go on the Wii and play with a lot of the new toys we got on Christmas. Later on that day, Mom and I went to Barnes'n'Noble to go return one of my Nooks. While my Mom returned, I looked at Nook covers. I found a couple I really liked, but settled for one that looked like paper, but at the bottom read, Read between the lines ...
~*~*~*
Yesterday I, finally, got to finish my sewing. Nanie had cut me an outline of some pj's and today I was finally going to finish them! Halfway through, I realized that I sewed both legs together, and had a really big skirt. After cutting, I started again, only to see that part of the fabric for one leg was not entirely sewn. Great. In the end, I had finally sewn a somewhat good pair of pj pants.

Christmas Eve

First off, Merry Christmas Eve everybody! Can you believe it? It still does not feel like Christmas! Or December, for that matter! Maybe it is because the South has been very sunny (and quite warm) recently.

On Wednesday, Nana and Papa came. It was very fun, we socialized and had a good time talking and catching up with one another.
Thursday was the day Nanie would be coming, and before she would show up at our house, Nana & Papa decided to take me, Aidan, Declan, and Maeve to the movies. Our options were: Alvin and the Chipmunks 3, We Bought a Zoo, and the Muppet's. We ended up going to see the Muppet's. It was a pretty good movie. Ma-naw-ma-naw! When we got home, Nanie was already there, and it turns out that she had been there since 1:30.
Today was quite a flurry of activities. I had not been sleeping very well, and had woken up many times during the night. But the first time I woke up, the Christmas tree light was on.(Nana & Papa had been sleeping in my room so Maeve and I slept in the living room.) This was at 2:30-3:00. Then, I heard footsteps. I looked around, and saw Declan coming. He walked over, and began to pet Gypsy, our cat.

''What are you doing?" I mumbled
''Petting Gypsy." Was his reply
"Wait, how did you know she was there?"
"I saw her."
This was weird. "Wait, were you the one who turned on the Christmas tree?" I asked
"Yes." said Declan.
"Can you turn it off? It is bright!" I said. He did, thankfully, and I went back to sleep.

The second time I awoke, was around 4:30-5. First, I saw Declan walking around again. Then Aidan. Aidan, who had Molly with him, decided to let her out at 4:45 AM! Now Declan decided he was going to get breakfast. I was not fixing on being up at 4:45, so I went up to him and told him to go back to bed.
"No." Was his response.
Now, instead of dealing with him at 4:45, I went and got my Mom. When I told her about Declan and how he was getting breakfast, she instantly got up and sent him to bed.
The rest of the day was fun. At 3:00 me, Mom, Nana, Papa; Aidan all were going to be going to Christmas Eve mass. We got there around 3:30 and had to wait for a while for mass to start. Luckily, we got there early enough for good seats.
When we left, we went home for dinner. Dinner was ham, broccoli, corn, potato souffle, rolls, meatballs, and cranberry sauce. Dinner was very good, and if we ate all of our dinner, we would get peppermint ice cream! Definitely a good dinner. Now, I am sitting here. My siblings have gone to bed, and I hope that I too, can get a good nights rest for tomorrow.

So, good night everybody, and Merry Christmas Eve!

5 More Day's 'Till Christmas . . .

Does it feel like Christmas to you? I know, 5 days until Christmas, I better feel like Christmas! But ... it doesn't. Maybe it is because this month has flown by, or because the stress of cleaning and shopping for company has distracted me. But, when I hear the song, ''Where are you, Christmas?" I think, Christmas has been here since Halloween! How can you even ask that!? But, still. With 5 days to go, it just doesn't feel like Christmas!
 ~*~*~*~*~*~
Now, last week we left off on Wednesday. This was the beginning of our 9 weeks testing. Drama and Social Studies. But, before the testing we still had homeroom.
See, my teachers ''dream'' in homeroom (she has a lot of these ''dreams'') was that we (as a class) would finish the book ''Walk Two Moons'' by Christmas Break. In 2 days. So far, we were at about half. So her dream was, unfortunately, not reality.
Drama was boring. We had to take our test, and it was the exact study guide! The thing is, we don't really do anything in class! Literally, we don't even take notes! Its like a free class!
Since the last 3 days were exams, I am going to go straight the the rest of the exams. Save you some extra minutes of reading!
Health was alright. I got an F. Yeah, I hate admitting it, but it didn't even affect my grade! I still have an A! However, the class average was in the 70's. I think.
Science was HARD! I am telling you, the beginning was OK, but after that I had to re-read the questions like 2 times to slightly comprehend what it was saying! (Alright, so that only happened with a few, but still! And, I am not slow. I just had to re-read to get what the question was asking!)
Math was alright. I don't know what I got, but the questions were not as hard as I thought.
Language arts was easy!!!! I mean, you half expect to see, Where does your name go? (I actually had that on a test last year!!!)
Social studies was also very easy! All that studying payed off! Ha. I made around an 84..
 ~*~*~*~*~*~
On Saturday, my first day of Christmas Vacation, I had to wake up around 6:30. Yep, 6:30. Why? Aidan (my brother) and I were going to run a 5k! It was called The Big Dog Jingle! My Dad would be taking us, since my Mom has gone to the past 2 races. When we got there, at like 7:30 (The race started at 9, or was it 8:30?) The tee-shirts were SUPER cute, and very green. Like, neon-reflector green. I am wearing it right now, actually.
Sunday was like another lazy day. Later on in the day, Mom, Aidan and I were going to go to this one big house with over 90,000 Christmas lights (they add more every year.) but since Aidan wasn't feeling good, plans were postponed.
Monday was good. Originally, we were going to go to Target, but couldn't. Then, we were going to go back to the Christmas Light house, and since Aidan was taking a long time to eat, he said that we could go without him. So Mom and I left to go to the house. Afterwords, we went to Walmart.
 ~*~*~*~*~
FINALLY! You are all caught up!
Today was a cleaning day. Well, a finish cleaning day. You see, we were supposed to have company come but plans changed. Instead of Nana & Papa coming today, they will be coming tomorrow. But that didn't stop the cleaning. So we scrubbed and brushed and washed. Now, when they come tomorrow we will have a clean house.
Other then that nothing else is happening!
Stay tuned!

Glee? I Think Yes .

This week has gone by so fast! It's about time, too! I cant wait for this week to end, but I know that Christmas break will be very fun, so I am looking forward to it, too! So far this week,
On Monday, we found out who made the competition (The V.S was to see who would perform at a competition) . And...? Coffee Break didn't make it. This made me ticked. Not only did C.B not make it, but my teachers favorites (Like always!) made it. Even some that made no sense!!! How UNFAIR! After being told this, she gave us the ''no group is better then other groups'' speech. Please. This just makes me so... angry. Why is it, that she always picks the same people? If people saw her through my perspective, then they would know.
On Tuesday, we were supposed to get our score sheets from Friday. Unfortunatly she didn't have ''enough'' for each student, so the group leaders (as far as I know) got a copy. Asking around (nobody seemed to have C.B'S sheet) I finally got to B, who was our group leader. I asked what we got and she said, ''We got all 'goods'. '' That was it. The big explanation as to why we didn't make it? Please! I know why we didn't make it, and I don't need a score sheet to prove it. The teacher has favoritism. We all (probably just me, because everybody seem's blind to her unfair ways) know that she had the last word. Ugh. And then, they made announcements for drama club tomorrow. As if! Pshh. I mean, it is fun if you are a leader in that but if your not? What fun is making halloween costumes for the drama officers? (Can you guess who they are?) With duct tape! Anyway, something rude that happened to me today, was the seat arrangement. S, a girl in drama class, sits next to me because she doesnt know where her seat is.
The teacher says, ''Everyone in their assigned seats.''
S, ''I dont know where mine is. ''
The teacher, ''Where do you sit when I gave you your seat arrangement?''
Now, she did not specify who she was talking to, and said this very mean-like. She didn't even look at me. So, thinking she was talking to S, I look at S.
S (along with other people in class), ''Aislinn...''
Me: ''Oh. A.'
You see, she didnt even look at me, or specify who she was talking to! And in her harsh voice, that was very rude. Even when I got up to ask her a question, she very rudely would say, ''Yes.''
~*~*~*~
Also on todays agenda, was health. After completing my study guide, I sat quietly while reading my book, Pretty Little Liars #4.
In science class, we watched a video on atoms and molecules. Talk about boring. I so badly wanted to fall asleep, but out of fear she was watching me, I chose to stay awake. After the grueling 16 minute video, we got out second study guide paper and began to work on that. Thankfully, she did not call on my name to do the study guide, because I did not know some (most) of those answers. :3
Math is now a game. People talk so much, (usually it is the same 8 people) that instead of punishing them, the teacher gives us tests and whatnot. This is the 3- (or is it 2?) - pop quiz in her class, from the past two weeks! Ridiculous!
Language and Social Studies were both boring, and after realizing I have math homework (thanks to those talk-a-tive ones) I must go.

Friday

(Continued from last post...)
When I woke up, i knew I had to go. So I gathered my clothes, packed extra food (I was NOT paying $5 for pizza!) and got ready to go. My Dad drove me and my brother to the bus stop, which was great for my hip! (Lately, my hip has been hurting, and walking on it can hurt/ be tiresome) At school, I felt good. I was not upset that I was going, but happy. I realized that if I had chosen not to go, then I would have regretted it. Last night my Dad had told me, ''Whatever you chose, do without regrets." That's exactly what I did.
Since my day flew by, I will start with the Variety Show first.
After class practice in 2'nd period, the next practice was after school. However, during practice in 2'nd period, my friend S told B that she couldn't stay for the V.S. The teacher, who also found out today, told her that since she wasn't staying, that she would sit out of practice and watch. So that was what she did. Looking at S, I was glad that was not me. I made a commitment, and was going to stick to that.
At 2:50, I grabbed my stuff from my locker, and walked toward the cafeteria. Practice was OK, instead of practicing we ran through the show. The teacher told us the order of the groups, and thinking we would either be first, or one of the first, I was mistaken. Instead of being first (or one of) we were the 3'rd to last. Talk about jitters. And get this, when we went up (to run through without an audience, just in front of the others who were performing) the announcer (who is in two of my classes!) got my NAME WRONG. Thanks A LOT , A!
Once the practice run-through was over, the teacher told us that we had an hour to eat and rehearse. She also said that those who paid got to get 2 pieces of pizza (5in-by-5in squares!!!HAHA!) And those who paid and who didn't pay, could get sodas! Then, when everybody who paid got pizza, anybody (paid or not!) could get pizza! Talk about SCAMMED!
B was stressed. As the instructor of the group, it was hard on her. Nobody was listening, and you could see the tears welling in her eyes. Then, C (who had a solo) must have gotton on her nerves, because she yelled, ''GET OUT! GO NOW, BYE C!" He looked around like, ''What?" "LEAVE!" She screamed. She had reached her limit. With him finally gone, we had to rush to find a person who could do his solo, and this was very last-minute.
The teacher, who was informed with everything, put him back into our group. ''One more chance.'' She said. But one chance didn't cut it, he was out within minutes.
During the V.S I was nervous, I was shaking, and the more acts that passed, the worse it got. Before the V.S started, those of us who were left, group prayed.
When we were backstage, C was back with us. He said he wanted to pray, so we all prayed.
Going up there was nerve-wrecking, I was very jittery. But when it was over, the fall made it complete. I wish I had photos, or even a video, but I dont. On Monday we will find out who made it. Except, the teacher already told her favorites who made it, so who knows.

PS: The test I had to take on Saturday went GREAT!

Where I Last Left Off ...

As we last left off, it was Thursday; the eve of the Variety Show. Many times on Thursday I questioned myself, wondering if I should go through with it. Here were my reasons:
To Go:
  1. See friends
  2. Looked like fun
  3. I have practiced for so long, didn't want to give up
  4. I didn't want to let people down
  5. I am in drama, so why not be in a drama performence
  6. I didn't want to not go and have people be mad at me
  7. Make my mom happy (She said she didnt care, but that made it harder)
To Not Go:
  1. It was most likely going to fail
  2. I had no solo, so it wasn't like it would change without me
  3. I didn't want to mess up
  4. I would have to get black (shoes, shirt and pants) by tomorrow
Those were my reasons. Back and fourth I went, decided, to undecided. I didn't know what to do, but I knew one thing: I needed to talk to someone. (My mom told me she got a headache so she didn't care what I did, as long as I made up my mind.) But the thing was, I wanted her to be happy about it. Not once did she ever say, ''Cant wait to go see Aislinn perform!" or "It sounds like fun!" And that made it worse because I wanted her to say those things and be happy about it. Later, when my Dad came home, I told him about The Variety Show, and what I was thinking. He said to me that whatever I want to do, people will support. He also said that Mom had previously told him that she was excited.
After talking with Dad for a bit, I then spoke to God. And God listened.

17 Days 'till Christmas . . .

Since my last post was published late, I will be working to get this post done before tomorrow! (:

Today was a Brains'n'Brawn day. Which is a competition every 8'th grade team does during homeroom (just on different weeks). Since I am in language for 6'th period, I go to that class to compete against other classes on my team. While waiting for the Brain's portion to start, my two friends, J and B, were telling me how they were gonna get me to compete this month, since they have for the past few months. I did not want to, and was not fixing on starting. Thankfully, my teacher grabbed 2 kids for the brains, and I was not one of them. The Brawn portion, however, was a different story. See, the teacher came by because she heard my friends shouting out how I ''wanted'' to compete for the Brawn. Pointing at us, one by one, my teacher told us how we all were going to compete. The three of us stood up, and when she turned her back, the two girls ran back to their seats. Chickens. So I, along with a few others from my class, had to shoot basketballs from the free throw line to try and beat the class we were going against. The first time I was up, I missed. The 2'nd time, I got a basket! It was so cool, because I scored the first basket! I guess it was the boost people needed, because from then on, we scored 4 more baskets! Unfortunatly, we lost by one point. But, in the end, my class won for the month! :D
Drama was another practice day. Today, we practiced on stage for the big Variety Show tomorrow night! (Judges are coming in tomorrow, and will tell us what 5 groups will be going to a special drama group! I heard this is a really fun group, so I hope all goes well!
After practice was health class, and from there science!!
Science was ok, today we had to take a test. Since she didn't let us use our notebooks, I was nervous, because I didn't know how I would do. In the end, we swapped papers with our partners and gradeds our papers! I missed 6 out of 30 questions! I ended up getting an 82, the highest grade in the class! When I told my teacher, she said, ''Yessssss!" And did an arm-in-fist-pulling-to-stomach move. I really dont know how to decribe it, but you would know it if you saw it.
Math class was like always; crappy. A lot of people were talking, and the teacher did what she usually does now, write point slips. Repeatidly.
Language arts was another book-reading day. And a copy-vocab from board day.
Socail studies was alright. I watched a video of the Declaration of Independence and laughed a lot at the celebrities and how younger they looked.
And that was my day! I hope tomorrow goes well, and that we make it!

25 Days Of Christmas . . .

Well, make that 18 days of Christmas.

So, today was an alright day. In the morning, I went to my locker and then to my homeroom. Since I recently finished the Pretty Little Liars books (I am on book 4) and just so happened to notice my teacher had the fourth book, I asked if I could borrow it. She said yes. Once I put the book on my desk, I began to help my friend, J, put up the tree for the class. In the end, it turned out pretty good. (:
Also, today was club day. So for most of homeroom I went to the scrapbook club. It was fun, and the Christmas paper was amazing! Once that ended, I went to drama class to rehearse the song Coffee Break.
During drama we rehearsed and rehearsed over and over repeadidly! I realize now, that I have a certain problem. I am not loud enough. I think it better to know this now, then later. Considering on Friday I will have a performence! But, I dont want to be the over-the-top crazy loud person, but I dont want to be that mice-are-louder-then-you person, either! So, for the rest of the day I tried to be louder.
Health class. Eh, lets skip that.
Science was a lab, and it was an OK one, but at least I dont have homework!
Math was ridiculous. Since a few people were talking, the teacher gave us a pop quiz! (News-flash: In case you didnt know, my old math teacher got promoted. So, we got a new one!) Then we went to lunch. After, we went to the bathroom. There, I quickly texted my mom, wondering if I would need to take the test. Her answer was yes.

Back in math class, the teacher(who must've had a change of heart?) decided instead of giving us the test, she gave us the teast answers! So, I quickly completed the test, and was saved by the bell!
In language arts, we read a new book, and then continued to write vocabulary.

Social studies was alright. We made ornaments (well, began too...) and read more about the Revolutionary War (and how Georgia was ''affected''). It was ok, but I seem to be losing focus on this topic. And I like learning history, but maybe it is because I am in the back of the class...

After all this, I still had time for drama practice. Which, was until 5. So far 2 hours, all you heard was a big jumble of songs and talent! Coffee Break was OK, since nobody could really catch on to a character, we were told who we would be. Many girls said, ''I want to be the one from Jersey Shore!" (Please, I dont watch that show, but that would NOT end well...) At one point, I said to B, ''Dont you think that there shold be that one character that doesnt get why everyone is freaking out?" B (who is in charge) said, "We already have one, J. Wait- J, you have a solo. How about you be the confused person? Aislinn, yeah! You can be the confused person!" I smiled and walked away, to share about my double life. While performing, (it just so happened that everyone was talking at this point, and not rehearsing) I went up to B and asked, "Do you think I should jump up like, No coffee!!! Or, no coffee..." Her reply was, ''Ooh! The second one, that would be great!" So, jumping back in line, we quickly began to rehearse. Then, about 10-15 minutes later, the teacher told us she was getting a friend of hers to come to see what we have done so far for our song. When her friend arrived, she seemed to be very snotty and obnoxious. She told us that we needed work. Then told us to start with the end of the song, and work our way to the begining. So, for the end our plan is to do this HUGE trust fall, but instead of catching the people, we fall on the people behind us, and so on. At first, it seems like it would hurt, but in the end it is a lot of fun! (Unless you are in the back of the line or dont have a big support group behind you!) In the end, I hope it looks cool!

Tonight, We Are Young . . .

So lets set the world on fire, and we can burn brighter then the sun. -Glee

Whew. Has it been a couple of days since I last blogged? Well, let me catch you up!

Alright, since I left off on the writing test (Gosh, that long ago?) I'm going to be honest, I can only remember these things:
December 1: Usually, I go to bed at 10:00, because that is my bedtime, but for some reason I was so late waking up (my bus comes at 6:51 and I woke up at 6:40!!) that all I could do was run around, literally, the house sreaming ''Ahhh!" My brother, Aidan, had already left without me and thankfully my mom could drive me to the bus stop!
December 2: After yesterday's morning mishap, my bedtime was changed back to 9:30. This is OK, but usually around 9:30 I begin to blog so I will be trying to make this new, but old, change work again. However, today I woke up a lot earlier and was able to leave at my regular time.
December 3-4: On the 3'rd I spent some of my day with my friend, C , and the rest of the day hanging out around the house. Also, this was the same day my mom got to go scrapbooking with her friends, which I know she loves! The next day, I woke up while people went to Sunday School (I am not in 8'th grade sunday school) and watched tv episodes on the tv.
Finally, caught up !
December 5'th: Yesterday was my orthodontist appointment, and I got my new retainer! It hurts my teeth, and I am not used to it at all. In fact, all of today it gave me a temp-lisp.
December 6: Well, a lot happened today. My teeth still hurt (Thanks for asking!) and today in drama a lot of changes happened! Well, after my 1,000 word essay I turned in for drama, the teacher always looks at me when she talks. And I DONT KNOW WHY! Anyway, for some reason a lot of kids haven't been here and for that reason changes in Coffee Break keep happening. As of today, a girl names B, changed a lot of choreography (and the choreographer wasn't even here today!) and added more lyrics.
Alright, well I must go but I will tell more soon!
