Today is Saturday! I am so happy! Not only is it Saturday, it is also the day of the retreat! :D I think it would be fun, until I get there.
"How is everyone doing today?" Kids mumble a response. "Good, good. Well there is still time to get ready so for now we will sing!" Sighs, mostly groans. "Alrighty, so lets begin!" The teacher begins, and no one follows in pursuit. Even I, dont join in.
"Sing, sing! They arent singing!" Says Mrs. Barkin*, the teacher of my Sunday School class. More groans. "Sing! Everyone join and sing, and if you know this song, please come up here with me!" My two friends, Jackie* & Joan* go up, accompanied by 4 more kids. "Great! Now, do some movements with me!" She begins again and only few brave ones go to sing. Some volunteers who stand by her do nothing. After singing the song over 5 times (!!!) we finally begin work. Each of us has a name-tag. And mine says 'Aislinn' in orange. So, one by one they call us into groups. I am put with only 2 girls I know. And actually, its 3 but I dont know the third all that well. Anyway, we all get together and go into the Church. There we all sit down. Mrs. Barkin walks in and says, "How many of you genuflected?" No one raises hands. "Shame on you! Now, how many of you kneeled down for prayer?" Again, no one raises hands. "Shame! This retreat focuses on religion, not other things!" So she tells us to get down and pray, and we do. So, after that we are told to leave our stuff there if we want to, and bring our sticks outside.
RE-WIND! Ok, so before the retreat, we needed to bring a stick, and rock. FAST FORWARD!
So, we go outside and are told to stay in our groups. My leader was refered to as "Orange Leader." Sadly, I forgot her name. Next, we took our sticks, and broke them to form a cross. Then, forming the cross, we tied it with string, more specifically, red string. To represent blood. Then we went to meditate in a field. Everyone was hanging out with friends, and I spotted Joan and Jackie, but didnt go to say hi because they were too far away. So, I stayed with a group of quiets, people who didnt talk much. It was fine, I didnt really feel the 'awkwardness' of standing alone. So I was happy. Shrill! Sounded a whistle. Mrs. Barkin was blowing her whistle, signaling time was over and to come back in the Church. We go back to our spots and once again here a reading, and on the way in, sing. Yes once again, the woman who made us sing in the begining, made us sing in the end. We sing a song.
Well, my computor is all messed up, so it deleted most of my post, so imma leave off here.
