Remember when I told you guys I had a 100'th blog post surprise? Well, Blogger got all moody on me and wouldn't let me post a video! :0 So, here I am typing. Will Blogger ever let me post a video? I hope.
Like said earlier, school is so~ long. Drama class is my favorite, and science is probably my least favorite. For just a quick over-view of my classes, let me tell you about them.
Homeroom: every week, my homeroom teacher has us write. (Like we don't do enough of that at school.) We are reading a book called Among the Hidden. I guess it is an 8'th grade level, but what level does that make me? Since I read this whole series in 5'th grade. Maybe Georgia is lacking in Reading skills...Probably....
Drama: Drama is my favorite class, and I am thankful God is allowing me to participate in something so...awesome! Last week we were prepping for our mid-term (which is not just in social studies this year, but in every class! :D!!! Not.) when my teacher thought of the perfect way for us to feel acting, to make it real. (We were learning about Stanislavsky's aka Stan the Broccoli who is a Russian actor in the 1700's) Now, here I am saying how awesome and fun this class is, not even realizing we had to write. (Again, with the writing!?!) We had to write a eulogy. For those of you that don't know what a eulogy is, it is something you say at someones funeral. So, I decided that the person I would write my eulogy on was my sister. The day before presenting, I realized in order to sell my performance, I must cry! So, I held my eye open for 30 seconds. The only thing this did was make me blink my eyes and refocus my contacts. The day of performance I was bawling! It was perfect, I have a cracked voice, allergies are acting up, and I was crying. Nice, right? So people get up and one by one a kid experiences torture. Until,
'Sara, your turn.' Teacher says. So Sara goes, and I am thinking, 'OK, OK anytime now and I will be picked. Just.Keep.Crying.' Until,
'Alright that's it for today, the rest of you go tomorrow.'
Oh my gosh you cannot believe how shocked I was. Here I am crying, and I need to go tomorrow!?!?!?!? So I got up and left, going to my next class.
The next day I presented with a shaky voice, thanks to my nerves, and as I was walking to my seat, sold my performance. I couldn't hold back, I cried. With all eyes on me (Yes, I was one of the first ones to go so all eyes were dry) I kept crying. I couldn't hold back. I know that my description of this makes me sound glad that I cried, but I honestly was sad. I am not happy I had to do something like this, but I honestly think I sold my performance. And guess what? After I sat down I was called up to the main lobby, because my Mom was there. She started to laugh at me because I was crying. (I forced myself to keep the tears flowing as I walked the school.) She told me it wasn't true, that it was just an assignment. So I go back to class and my teacher congratulated us on our speeches. Then gave us another homework piece.
Write another eulogy...
Careers: This class is definitely in the bottom categories because of many reasons. But lets skip the reasons, and get on with the class. Careers is a forever-looking-at-the-clock-to-see-when-I-leave class. It drags on..and on..and on.. Until the bell rings and I go to science.
Science: In 8'th grade, you learn all about Watts, Joules, Newtons, Matter, Mechanical Advantage, and a bunch of other terms you will never use in your life. All I have to say is, if you dont learn it quick, your gonna be awfully behind the rest of the year.
Math: This is probably my favorite class, because the teacher always tells us to 'Shut up and quick being so slow' It is hilarious. And, it is a review!!! I know all about exponents and probability!!! So, if you know about that stuff, your good!
Language Arts: So, this class is boring. The teacher talks so quietly and we, again, are reading books my siblings could read. In a day. And on top of reading books, she gives us piles of papers about the book (including chapters 5-10) when we aren't even done with chapter 5!!! Oh, and don't let me forget her stupid seating chart! Once again, I am in the back! Putting all the stupid, talkative kids up front. Just saying.
Georgia Studies: Most of you are familiar with Social studies, but since I live in GA, I guess the US finally decided I learn about the government, and the economy. Get this, my teacher said there is a good chance most of us will end up in the Georgia Congress House. And I think , 'Yeah, sure. Most of the kids at this school wont graduate high school. Much less get into the GA State House. Keep on dreaming'
So there ya have it! That is my usual day-to-day classes.
Happy Labor Day
